General FAQs

About GigFix

  • A crewing app made for the production industries, GigFix is a non-traditional solution for non-traditional jobs. Designed to connect, scroll, post or hire on-the-go, Gig-givers can easily search roles, skill sets, availabilities, and rates, all while empowering a curated network of Gig-seekers to show what they’re made of outside the boring box of a résumé.

  • At the moment we are in the US only, but we hope to expand soon!

  • GigFix is compatible with both iPhones and Androids.

We are not currently optimized for tablets or desktops, however we plan to be down the road, and with even more new features. Stay tuned.

Please sign up for our newsletter for the latest GigFix updates.

Application
Process

  • You can apply or be invited to join by a current GigFix Key Partner.

  • While a referral from a Key Partner helps, you can also apply here and be admitted directly by GigFix.

  • The bar for membership is high in order to ensure a community of high-caliber professionals across the industry.

  • We make no promises. You will receive an email whenever the status of your application changes. Be on the lookout for updates.

  • Absolutely. We just ask for you to be truthful about your experience to ensure each person hired has the capabilities and the background necessary for the job.

  • A Key Partner is a member who has played a Key role in building our community. “Keys,” as we call them, are the only members permitted to issue invites to GigFix, and get exclusive deals, access, offers, and discounts as they arise.

  • We will reach out to you directly if we are interested in upgrading your membership.

Privacy &
Security

  • You can do this directly in the app under Settings. If you need to report a user’s video, you can do this directly on their video by clicking the three dots on the upper right hand corner. You can always email us at support@gigfix.com as well.

  • Please report the problem immediately either in the app, or by emailing support@gigfix.com.

You may Block a user at any time by going to their profile > selecting the 3 dots on the upper right hand corner > selecting Block and then following the prompts.

  • No. We do not currently track your location.

  • You can either email support@gigfix.com, or you can follow the steps to log out of your account, and then follow the prompts within the app.

  • Not at this time, no.

  • You should email support@gigfix.com right away.

App FAQs

My Profile

  • These are listed in order of selection. We hope to improve this experience in future versions of GigFix. If you’d like to make edits to the order, unselect the items, and then reselect them in the order you’d like.

  • To avoid people selecting 20 roles, we ask that you prioritize your top 3 to encourage specificity. We’re always open to suggestions, so if you don’t like this, feel free to let us know at feedback@gigfix.com.

  • Go to your Profile > select Settings > then Sign Out.

  • Please email support@gigfix.com.

  • All members can view your content, unless you choose to block someone. If you block someone, they will not be able to see your content, nor will you be able to see theirs.

We currently do not offer unsubscribing, nor private profiles. Be on the lookout, as we plan to add these features soon.

  • If you join GigFix, any member can contact you via the method you set in your profile (email, text, etc). If you block a profile, they will no longer be able to view your contact information on GigFix.

  • At this time no, but we plan to offer this in a future update. Stay tuned!

  • You can add the URL to your profile, but currently hyperlinks do not work. We plan to add this in a future update.

  • While we recommend that you use your discretion, we typically recommend that you list the main city you’re closest to since Gig-givers are most likely going to search around major metropolitan areas instead of around smaller suburbs. We plan to improve this feature in the future, but keep this in mind for now.

Searches

  • We do not at this time. You can save search categories, but you can’t save search results.

  • You can submit a suggestion under the Get Help section, or email us at feedback@gigfix.com.

  • While we can’t provide you with crew names, we can absolutely help you use GigFix to the best of your ability. Please email us with any questions at support@gigfix.com and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible (usually within 24 hrs).

  • Not currently, but we plan to add this feature soon. Please note: your Role & Location on a specific job are not currently searchable, so make sure your profile includes the Roles & Locations you want to be discoverable.

  • That’s because this is a place to find and meet new people. Rest assured — if you can log in, users can see your profile.

Video Content &
Uploads

  • This is about finding new people! You can view your own content on your profile. Your content will showing up in the feed of other users (unless you have them blocked.)

  • Unfortunately photos aren’t accepted at this time. If you’d like to see photos added, please reach out and let us know at feedback@gigfix.com. In the meantime, we recommend converting your still image into a .mov or .mp4, so you can share it.

  • There is a 3 minute maximum to videos. Be creative!

  • That’s not our style. This isn’t about likes or comments. This is about finding great crew and networking – not a popularity contest!

  • Unfortunately not at this time, but if this is something you’d like to see, please reach out to feedback@gigfix.com and let us know.

  • Nope! We don’t want to get in the way of your creativity, so we’ve left aspect ratios open. Keep in mind that any non-vertical video will be letterboxed.

While there are no file size restrictions, besides the total running time, remember that the larger the file the slower it will load in the feed — so if you can upload a smaller file, we recommend it!

Connections &
Favorites

  • People that you have worked with are just that — they are people you know in real life and have worked with in a production capacity.

“I’ve worked with this person” isn’t vouching for them, but if you have connections in common then they can always reach out to each other to ask about you, or it may just make someone feel more comfortable about working with or contacting you themselves.

This is meant to mirror how the industry already operates with referrals — but in a much more efficient way.

Remember: use this feature so you and your fellow members have insight into who knows whom. Then use that information however you’d like.

  • Briefcase icons represent connections with people you have worked with. Favoriting, or the star icon, is more like following someone on another social media platform, and saves their profile to a list. You might Favorite someone because you find them inspiring, just like their content, or want to work with them in the future.

  • You can remove them by going to their profile, selecting the three dots at the top right, and changing their status. If this becomes an issue, please contact support@gigfix.com.

  • Currently no, but we plan to add this soon.

  • Favoriting a person (clicking the star) is similar to following someone on social media. They don’t have to follow you back, but you can easily find their profile again.

  • Just contact them and the rest is up to you.
